Dear All!Today we have a drunken reading group (as Sevda named it!)I want to introduce our guest to everyone.Zinaida Vasilyeva is an anthropologist, researcher at the Munich Center for Technology in Society, TUM. She studied the concept of DIY (“samodeiatelnost”) as part of her dissertation on the culture of amateurism in Russia and the USSR.I am very grateful to Zinaida for agreeing to join us. We do not know each other. I was just introduced to her by Mitya Zacharevich. Her text (in the attachment) if anyone wants to read it.It seems to me that she is a critical intellectual conversational partner for us because her research deals with the same questions that we want to answer.One can understand DIY as a social technology that has the potential of societal transformation. Adrian Bowyer – a creator of Rep Rap 3d talked about it at one of MoC Assemblies. Self-replicating 3 d printers have already created a decentralized worldwide production system.For me, our Museum of Care is an attempt to create similar social structures, but in the cultural and social territory.For me it is what Alexander Bogdanov’s Proletkult could have become but didn’t.
