9 min – v: we found 10-20 people and had them invite people.. that we would just accept.. people that would make sense for zulalu.. some from ethereum, longevity, et al.. goal was to find/bring people who were part of a few particular cultures/spaces.. but more than just one.. people who were interesting who would provide value to zulalu while it was happening.. wanted to avoid people who would pop in opportunistically .. trying to shoulder projects get investments.. have geeks.. then have sociopaths.. we were trying to be selective
needs to be unconditional (aka: for anyone.. no prep.. no train) for the dance to dance..
*building and sustaining such large scale public goods well requites new econ models and even a new culture.. kevin and gitcoin dao has been at the forefront of thinking thru these challenges and actively deploying and iterating on **new ways to bring democratic public goods funding, on the internet and beyond, to life

but what if we put things on chain? what if we used all the new tools that blockchains provide to produce public goods in an adversarial environ.. *where all parties know some bad actors will try to game the system, where on chain actions are finally just as perceptible as digitally signed words, and where we **develop explicit metrics for positive sum outcomes..

that’s the promise of regen cryptoecon.. like renewable enregy of the nuclear vaiety, it helps make crypto sustainable.. it’s not zeero sum gambling or neg sum hacking.. it’s positive sum wealth creation and it’s the win and help win of web 3

it’s all about coordination, it always has been .. the web3 regens are steadfast, focused on addressing the systemic root of the major issues that face humanity today: our failure to coordinate around public goods
this is a huge huge statement.. because nothing to date (including all this) has gotten to the root of problem
legit freedom will only happen if it’s all of us.. and in order to be all of us.. has to be sans any form of measuring, accounting, people telling other people what to do
how we gather in a space is huge.. need to try spaces of permission where people have nothing to prove to facil curiosity over decision making.. because the finite set of choices of decision making is unmooring us.. keeping us from us..
ie: imagine if we listen to the itch-in-8b-souls 1st thing everyday & use that data to connect us (tech as it could be.. ai as augmenting interconnectedness)

there’s a legit use of tech (nonjudgmental exponential labeling) to facil the seeming chaos of a global detox leap/dance.. for (blank)’s sake..

if you want to create value for society (public goods) like building open source libraries or stewarding our lakes, rivers, and oceans.. you have 3 options: beg, sacrifice or both.. taxes and donations are the dominant funding streams for satisfying our collective wants/needs.. even though these massive funding streams should be enough to provide abundant public goods for society, they don’t because they are difficult to coordinate.. taxes are distributed top down, making the feedback mechs incredibly slow or none existent.. donations are market feedback, but there is no financial reward for success.. in fact, they rely on unsustainable sacrifice from donors, volunteers and everyone else along the way..
web3 will change this.. we are building novel coord mechs to create public goods while rewarding everyone involved.. society has the opp to unleash the entrepreneurial spirit into an open landscape of econ potential.. we can create econ games that make collective value creation regenerative.. regen cryptoecon is abundance econ..
