curiosity over decision making

same on issuu:

(for me/us) the curiosity/experimentation we did was really about how to set people free.. and what we found was that curiosity penetrates deeper than decision making.. (beyond/deeper than david’s consensus ness) .. more of an offense/aliveness than a defense/responding (to a finite set of choices et al) and it is at this core where free\dom (getting/letting the whales out of sea world) can begin (again)

decision making’s finite set of choices are too entwined in supposed to’s

let’s just facil daily curiosity  first thing.. everyday ie: cure ios city

[curiosity (where’s my insatiable itch today) over decision making (ie: what should i participate in)]

via 2 convers as infra

tech as it could be..

ie: hlb via 2 convers that io dance.. as the day..[aka: not part\ial.. for (blank)’s sake…]..  a nother way

imagine if we just focused on listening to the itch-in-8b-souls.. first thing.. everyday.. and used that data to augment our interconnectedness.. we might just get to a more antifragile, healthy, thriving world.. the ecosystem we keep longing for..

what the world needs most is the energy of 8b alive people

in the city.. as the day..

From cheeseburgers to coral reefs, the science of decision-making can change the world #environment

perhaps we have a better chance of changing the world if we let go of decision making.. focus on daily curiosity instead

what the world needs most: the energy of 7b alive people

from Peter Moskowitz‘s case against free speech:

harold lasswell 1933 – preeminent expert on and big supporter of propaganda.. wrote that because americans were by and large too stupid to make decisions for their own good, propaganda was necessary to sway them in the right direction

there’s our problem.. thinking life is about making decisions (finite set of choices – usually offered by someone outside us) rather than about listening to curiosity

propaganda, lasswell wrote ‘is the one means of mass mobilization which is cheaper than violence, bribery or other possible control techniques:

curiosity is most humane – cheapest – most controlled/safe/orderly.. et al ie: undisturbed ecosystem: ‘in undisturbed ecosystems ..the average individual, species, or population, left to its own devices, behaves in ways that serve and stabilize the whole..’ –Dana Meadows

7 yrs later – seth’s post – you might have a marketing problem – sept 24 2019 – making it clearer to me why ‘market\ing‘ ness has always left me unsettled – marketing puts decisions over curiosity.. when we need that to be the other way around –

*That’s because humans make choices. If we live in a culture where people are free to choose, we’ve **offered control over our future to others.

*but what we keep looking at and going off of is more like whales in sea world making choices from a finite set

there’s no reason one human needs to **offer choices to another.. if that’s happening.. huge red flag that we will never get to what we need most: the energy of 7b alive people

in undisturbed ecosystem ..the average individual, species, or population, left to its own devices, behaves in ways that serve and stabilize the whole..’ –Dana Meadows

When humans make choices–that’s marketing. Marketing is the difficult work of telling a story that resonates, of *bringing a consistent set of promises to people who want to hear them.

there’s no reason one human needs to be *bringing consistent set of promises to another.. if that’s happening.. huge red flag that we will never get to what we need most: the energy of 7b alive people .. ie: eudaimoniative surplus.. fittingness

from 30 min film of Nic Askew – from his monday newsletter oct 7 2019:

5 min – people are in disbelief.. ‘it can’t be this simple.. how can i just sit and do nothing’.. because the assumption is.. if you do something.. something will happen.. but it’s the opposite.. if you sit still long enough .. you are recognized.. everything finds you.. you act from there.. but if you never sit still long enough.. you never know

this is the essence of curiosity over decision making.. and that without that.. we perpetuate a whales in sea world world.. where we have no idea what/who we are.. this is what i mean by curiosity.. listening over inquiring/deciding/searching

socially beneficial use of the data stream our online meanderings leave behind,

as opposed to current use to advertise to us?I could get behind that.

choose to redefine whatever we’re doing as the thing we’ve chosen to do, right here and right now.

from david is funny:

1:02 – systems like decentralized consensus.. that could work w/o coercion.. w/o a police force.. i always say.. an anarchist org is any form of org that would not require guys w weapons to show up at a certain point and say.. everybody shut up and do what you’re told.. so any system where you don’t need those guys could be an anarchist system.. *so what we’re trying to create are decision making methods that could work w/o violent enforcement.. t

graeber anarchism law

telling people what to do ness.. socrates supposed to law

*imagine if we let go of decision making as the focus.. and instead focused on daily curiosity.. we’d need less/no decision-making/consensus/coercion to some assumed/enforced finite set of choices.. so no need for violence/violent-enforcement
