gregarious ness

‘became a purely academic pursuit..very similar to our philosoph tradition when it moved from monastery to uni & ceased to conceive itself as a form of practice..even after they abandoned the monastery..scholars maintained what what was essentially a monastic self’ @davidgraeber

@monk51295 @nikadubrovsky @davidgraeber Pierre Hadot points out that Thoreau held a similar view -“There are nowadays professors of philosophy, but not philosophers. To be a philosopher is not merely to have subtle thoughts It is to solve some of the problems of life, not only theoretically, but practically.”

@monk51295 @nikadubrovsky @davidgraeber Although maybe he didn’t realise it’s full implications. Thoreau wasn’t the hermit he‘s often made out to be, but nor was he anywhere near as gregarious as David.

@monk51295 @nikadubrovsky @davidgraeber Perhaps Thoreau was more gregarious than I appreciated!

i think we’re all ‘gregarious’ when legit free.. our visible degrees of it now depend on 1\ how much sea world trauma we’ve experienced and 2\ the types of cope\ing and whalespeak.. we’ve been using/speaking as whales

the reason i jump (film) .. higashida autism law et al

@Anarkismus_ Read the opening chapter of a book by Alda Balthrop-Lewis yesterday – ‘Thoreau‘s Religion’ – which puts forward a ‘social’ interpretation of Thoreau that is “more than human“, thought you might find it interesting! https://t.co/8CutfvifrYhttps://t.co/29AlOUkol4

@iamalda @CambUP_Religion Although I‘ve long admired Thoreau and have often thought of pursuing an “aesthetic” way of life, I have recently been moving away from that towards a more  social concept of freedom advocated by Bakunin, and yet your book seems to suggest that things might not be so clear cut! https://t.co/WNemtwmLmk

because it has to be all of us.. for the dance to dance

When Thoreau wrote “If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer” he wasn’t saying you should forget about them and “beat to your own drum” (asocial) You can orchestrate “the mob” (social) even from a shed on a remote island! https://t.co/S97YxvRRGs

we need both.. (own drum and orchestra).. and.. both are currently missing pieces.. for all of us..

let’s focus on that problem deep enough.. for 8b souls to resonate with today

@iamalda @CambUP_Religion Beating to your own drum doesn’t have to be asocial, you can ”call the mob” even from a shed on a remote island in the Hebrides!

even deeper.. can’t have the social without the own drum ness.. ie: brown belonging lawthe opposite of belonging.. is fitting in.. true belonging doesn’t require you to change who you are.. it requires you to be who you are.. and that’s vulnerable.. –Brené Brown

(links back to nika’s thoreau like friend)

so again.. thinking (and expanded).. we all crave social ness.. just depends on:

1\ how well we can legit hear our heart/itch-in-the-soul/fittingness..et al – (from findings et al – once legit free to do whatever.. craved other people to do/be that with)..

2\ our means of cope\ing in sea world/rat cage.. (from higashida autism law.. the reason i jump (film).. to playing the perfect monopoly game to fit in .. brown belonging law.. maté trump law.. hari present in society law.. et al)

3\ how free others are.. (can’t legit be free to be social if others aren’t legit themselves.. like chappelle awake law.. none of us are free if one of us is chained.. why nika’s friend and the like.. and why as if already free ness doesn’t get us back/to the dance..)

_________

thurman interconnectedness lawwhen you understand interconnectedness it makes you more afraid of hating than of dying – Robert Thurman

what we need is a nother way for 8b people to live.. which means we need a legit means for 8b people to leap .. out of sea world/rat cage.. for (blank)’s sake

findings:

1\ undisturbed ecosystem (common\ing) can happen

2\ if we create a way to ground the chaos of 8b free people
