Decolonizing Our Attention Spans To Address the Meta-Crisis
Undoubtedly, various factors contributed to my hiatus—unforeseen life events such as a global pandemic, activism-induced burnout, struggles with anxiety and depression, the pursuit of livelihood, and the initiation of new ventures and projects. Yet, amidst the myriad influences, the diminishing capacity for sustained focus and a drift away from my calling emerged as salient themes.
Balancing my endeavors to address global issues through activism and writing while neglecting the exigencies of my business and the imperative of earning a livelihood induced a mounting sense of overwhelm.

my perspective on COVID-19 diverged significantly from the prevalent narratives. While many debated its origins and ramifications, I saw it as an opportunity for “radically practical” transformation, an occasion to transcend our deteriorating socio-economic structures..t Yet, my optimism waned as the pandemic unfolded, revealing deep societal divisions, eroding the very fabric of our humanity.

there’s a legit use of tech (nonjudgmental expo labeling).. to facil a legit global detox leap.. for (blank)’s sake.. and we’re missing it
ie: imagine if we listened to the itch-in-8b-souls 1st thing everyday & used that data to connect us (tech as it could be.. ai as augmenting interconnectedness)
I find myself pondering: is this lack of focus merely a product of my own faltering attention, or could it be symptomatic of a system-caused diversion from what truly matters?..t
need means (nonjudgmental expo labeling) to undo hierarchical listening as global detox so we can org around legit needs
I vividly remember bearing witness to real-time updates from activists amid the tumult of the Egyptian revolution and the Arab Spring. In my eyes, Twitter embodied a platform conducive to collective intelligence, fostering revolutions and societal metamorphosis through the alchemy of 140-character tweets. It offered a panoramic view of the global zeitgeist, akin to a burgeoning global mind steering our collective consciousness towards the ideals of global empathy and the “Collaborative Commons” envisaged ..
Tristan Harris’s insightful analysis in “The Social Dilemma” documentary illuminates how our prevailing competitive socio-economic systems have skewed the net impact of these tools towards detriment.

a gradual erosion of our attention spans and ability for deep dives of understanding.
less about understanding ness and more about the dance
ie: intellectness as cancerous distraction we can’t seem to let go of.. there’s a legit use of tech (nonjudgmental expo labeling).. to facil a legit global detox leap.. for (blank)’s sake.. and we’re missing it
Currently we are literally “paying attention” to corporations to hijack our attention and focus. It is time to take back our focus, realign our priorities and recommit to the pursuit of deeper understanding, embracing the complexities of our world through immersive, long-form explorations.
need means (nonjudgmental expo labeling) to undo hierarchical listening as global detox so we can org around legit needs.. if 8b listening to itch-in-the-soul.. attention ness is irrelevant
Our focus should be squarely on the root cause: our outdated socio-economic structure, built on endless growth and rivalry. It not only undermines our attention but also veers us away from what truly holds value
healing (roots of) ie: maté basic needs.. everything else .. cancerous distractions
Distraction and Coordination Failures: Can You Pay Attention?
again.. if 8b listening to itch-in-the-soul.. attention ness is irrelevant.. so cancerous distraction
what truly demands attention: the collective awakening to our power to enact “radically practical” systemic change.
For those willing and able to devote the attention to a deep dive, I recommend immersing yourself in a four-hour conversation with the esteemed thinker Daniel Schmachtenberger.
daniel schmachtenberger .. to me.. not listening deep enough..
besides.. and more urgent.. there’s a nother way than listening to others explain et al..
we need to try a way w no prep.. no train.. sans any form of m\a\p
liberate our minds from colonization, and orchestrate unprecedented levels of coordination..t
yeah.. that won’t happen as long as any form of people telling other people what to do
