technocalyps ness

In the last days of the Crypto Commons Gathering, we presented and watched the third episode of:

* Technocalyps, the Metaphysics of Technology and the End of Man, entitled, ‘The Digital Messiah’

I’m happy to report the audience found it fascinating and more than relevant to what is happening today. Remember, when we made it in the mid-90s, the seeds of the current oligarchic transhumanism were being sown already (linking it to a much larger history that we trace back to the Russsian cosmists)

Technocalyps is a three-part documentary series on the notion of transhumanism by Belgian visual artist and filmmaker Frank Theys. *The accelerating advances in genetics, brain research, artificial intelligence, bionics and nanotechnology seem to converge to one goal: to overcome human limits and create higher forms of intelligent life and to create transhuman life. Frank Theys conducts his enquiry into the scientific, ethical and metaphysical dimensions of these technological developments. The film includes interviews by top scientists and thinkers on the subject worldwide, including Marvin Minsky, Ray Kurzweil, Hans Moravec, Terence McKenna, Bruce Sterling, Robert Anton Wilson, Margaret Wertheim, Rael, the Dalai Lama and many more.

to me.. makes no diff how ‘accel’ ness anything is .. if non legit ‘data’.. aka: whalespeak et al

nothing to date (ever since that day) has gotten to the root of problem of ie: re humanizing.. ‘saving’.. restoring.. uncovering.. us.. of getting us back out of sea world.. hari rat park law et al

marvin minsky.. ray kurzweil.. bruce sterling.. wilson label law..

via google summaries:

H+ Magazine wrote that the film focuses “on the various emerging technologies that Transhumanism has coalesced around and feature illuminating (or potentially terrifying) interviews with scientists working in these fields”, and Crónicas de Esperantia wrote that the film was an *excellent documentary that shares some future keys. Christopher Webster of Quiet Earth reviewed the documentary and wrote that it “is a really smart look at humanity’s quest for immortality through science” and how with its focus on hard science “gets into how this quest effects art and culture and how the **whole mess intersects to form the very fabric of who we are.

*to me.. no keys if still not getting to root of problem .. aka: if still any form of m\a\p

**rather.. perhaps.. who whales in sea world are.. and so perpetuating the same song.. the whac-a-mole-ing ness of sea world.. of not-us ness.. of part\ial ness..  perpetuating survival triage.. for (blank)’s sake..

Technocalyps Part 3: The Digital Messiah is the final segment of Frank Theys’ 2006 documentary series, focusing on the metaphysics of transhumanism and the end of humanity. *The film explores how technological advancement and the quest for immortality intersect with religious concepts, often framing AI and digital transformation as a modern “Digital Messiah“.

*the only ‘digital mesiah’ ness (if meaning a means to save us) is if we use tech for the thing we can’t seem to do/be.. ie: tech w/o judgment.. aka: nonjudgmental expo labeling

Global reviews for Frank Theys’ 2006 documentary Technocalyps (specifically Part 3) characterize it as a highly intelligent yet unsettling exploration of the transhumanist movement. Critics and viewers frequently highlight the film’s examination of the “tech-religion” parallel, where *Silicon Valley’s quest for artificial intelligence and immortality acts as a modern substitute for salvation. The documentary currently holds a 4.1/5 rating on Prime Video and a 7.3/10 on IMDb, drawing praise for its in-depth interviews with thinkers like Ray Kurzweil and Marvin Minsky. *again.. we do need help.. ie: imagine a turtle ness.. but rather.. need a legit use of tech (nonjudgmental exponential labeling).. to facil the seeming chaos of a global detox leap/dance
