daniel on non rivalrous structure

6 min video – jun 2020 – words by daniel schmachtenberger:

rivalrous dynamics multiplied by exponential tech is self terminating.. expo tech is inexorable.. we cannot put it away..

..so we either figure out anti rivalry

.. or we go extinct..human experiment comes to a completion.. that’s the core thing

non rivalrous ness

ie: cure ios city

economics is our value system codified as value equations that determines how much we value one thing relative to another thing.. that determines what we’re incentivized to do and what we confer power to

graeber values law

red flags.. ie: incentives

i have to kind of deaden to be able to do the thing that is incentivized by the system (ie: dead whale worth more than live whale).. or somebody else does and i’m just not affected in the system

if look at way economics needs to protect its own profit stream in the way it will learn how to influence media to control people’s sense making frameworks.. influence governance.. legislation on what happens in nature of ed to prep people for work force

to legit be non rivalrous .. have to let go of Ed, work force, et al

1 min – so can’t think about evolution of human consciousness and evolution of econ differently

the paradigm shift is basically.. everything

spot on.. now let’s not back down on that

we need new systems of governance that are not any system of governance the world has ever done so far.. t

ie: cure ios city

there systems of .. how do we .. individually and collectively.. make sense of what’s going on .. make sense of what we actually value.. and how those values can be synergistically satisfied rather than in a theory of trade offs with each other

by focusing deep enough: maté basic needs

org-ing around that: 2 convers as infra

2 min – so we need totally new systems of econ.. totally new systems of ed.. all the way down to an individual level.. a new basis for id, values, our own individual sense making

all one in same.. if focus deep enough.. ie: no longer need systems called: econ, ed, health, .. et al

as long as i think i’m an individual fundamentally separate from you and biosphere et al.. i can think about optimizing my own quality of life independent of and maybe even at the expense of your quality of life and biosphere et al

thurman interconnectedness lawwhen you understand interconnectedness it makes you more afraid of hating than of dying – Robert Thurman

as soon as i start to say.. i’m not that tree.. but w/o trees.. i would not exist.. soil.. et al.. turns out.. my life depends on the whole thing

3 min – as long as i have a sense of i that is separate and maybe even rivalrous.. in rivalrous competition for some scarce status/resource/attention/partner.. whatever.. then we have a fundamental basis for war.. and in a world w expo increasing tech.. warfare gets to be more and more consequential.. that will self terminate..

so figuring out anti rivalry is a psycho/spiritual process inside of ourselves.. can we pay attention to our motions/triggers that hijack us from sovereignty.. because the moment i’m getting pissed and my value system is not to be an angry person i’m actually hijacked.. can i pay attention to that and actually have some sovereignty over my own inner state and how i show up in the world.. and can we figure out how to do that collectively as well

self-talk as data et al

4 min – the other critical thing.. is you can’t assume that other people are going to fix these issues.. and you can just kind of chill and the world will just work out.. that also doesn’t mean that you should freak out and go into existential angst on hyper drive w/o knowing what to do.. but to progressively lean in more and say.. ok.. there’s a path that we can make it.. but it’s not a given at all that we do.. rather than ask whether we do or not.. how do i help determine that we do

and that will require learning a bunch of things that you don’t currently know.. and that maybe nobody has synthesized well yet

huge red flag man of rivalrous ness

let go of having to teach/train people things

already in us..

and that’s what being in an imaginal cell from caterpillar to butterfly really means.. is taking some empowered responsibility for being someone who’s recognizing that you can’t just run the instruction manual that was given historically and the new instruction manual doesn’t exist yet.. and it’s actually .. the time of people in that liminal phase.. is to work on developing..

.. what are the new structures.. t

intro’d to video via michel fb share.. after i added page.. seeing michel’s comment:

the projects are very convergent .. the commons is essentially about non-rival games, but game b, despite being about it, almost never mentions it (I would say never if I wasn’t careful because I have personally not encountered it). This then, seems to me a huge blindspot in game b, as the commons are the only historically institutions that has been able to maintain resources in equilibrium for very long periods of time, and there is no realistic way to implement game b logics without specific attention to the role of the commons

yeah.. i don’t see plan b (per my notes on jim rutt‘s page) as commoning..

what i do see.. non rivalrous system we’ve not yet tried: cure ios city.. common\ing is a natural result.. already in us

1\ undisturbed ecosystem (common\ing) can happen

2\ if we create a way to ground the chaos of 8b free people

I have a podcast episode coming up with Daniel Schmachtenberger.  Generally on the topics of “omni-win economics” and “sovereignty”.  What are some sub-topics to pursue and/or questions to ask?

could you imagine a new structure.. that would have no pre reqs..? that 8b people could access today..?

RT @jientho: good but  piece is missing: how  2 identify & deal with bad actors. Someone determined to be a bad actor can destroy the good work of millions of ‘game b’ players. There has to be a defense constructed against this phenomenon as well. First.

defense against this phenom: gershenfeld something else law.. so that everyone (including the inspectors of inspectors) have something else to do.. than ie: be bad
