Between Psyche and Cyborg: Carl Jung’s Legacy and the Countercultural Courage to Reclaim the Deeply Human in a Posthuman Age
legit freedom will only happen if it’s all of us.. and in order to be all of us.. has to be sans any form of measuring, accounting, people telling other people what to do
how we gather in a space is huge.. need to try spaces of permission where people have nothing to prove to facil curiosity over decision making.. because the finite set of choices of decision making is unmooring us.. keeping us from us..
ie: imagine if we listened to the itch-in-8b-souls 1st thing everyday & used that data to connect us (tech as it could be.. ai as augmenting interconnectedness)
the thing we’ve not yet tried/seen: the unconditional part of left to own devices ness
[‘in an undisturbed ecosystem ..the individual left to its own devices.. serves the whole’ –dana meadows]
there’s a legit use of tech (nonjudgmental exponential labeling) to facil the seeming chaos of a global detox leap/dance.. the unconditional part of left-to-own-devices ness.. for (blank)’s sake.. and we’re missing it
ie: whatever for a year.. a legit sabbatical ish transition
[slater on jung]: If cosmic matter has given rise to consciousness, and we are now called to grasp the nature of consciousness, realizing that thinking about our thinking is the necessary companion of any exploration and understanding of the universe that surrounds us, our grasp of the inner world becomes just as vital as our grasp on the outer world — perhaps even more so..t
rather.. maybe we need to let go of thinking we have to grasp/know things.. of thinkng we have to think about things.. there’s a nother way.. sans any form of measuring, accounting, people telling other people what to do
graeber unpredictability/surprise law et al.. graeber can’t know law et al..
[again.. slater on jung]: An expansion of consciousness is imperative if we are to make responsible use of the transformative power in our hands… With divine guidance largely beyond our secular vision, *we are left to look within for something deeper than our controlling inclinations..t and to look without to perceive the guidance of nature’s intelligence. **Guidance must ultimately come from dialogue with these marginalized sources of knowledge..t and from the cultural imagination, which shapes this dialogue. The result will be a “co-creation” — a partnership between innovation, self-knowledge, and a cosmology befitting this age. Such a co-creative process will mitigate and shape our technologies as well as generate ***opportunities for spiritual renewal.
*’controlling inclinations’ ie: thinking we have to .. or even can.. know things.. intellectness as cancerous distraction
**perhaps our souls are not seeking/craving ‘guidance’.. but rather.. the unconditional part of left to own devices ness
***nothing to date new..
Because our emotions are a fundament of our human nature, which is itself a fractal of Nature,..t they are the raw material for the co-creative process that offers an antidote to the dehumanization of humanity. Slater writes:
*if legit fractal of nature.. then organism as fractal.. so fractal around itch-in-the-soul rather than ’emotions’.. need a means for global detox/reset first
so need 1st/most: means to undo our hierarchical listening to self/others/nature as global detox/re\set.. so we can org around legit needs
again.. imagine if we listened to the itch-in-8b-souls 1st thing everyday & used that data to connect us (tech as it could be.. ai as augmenting interconnectedness as nonjudgmental expo labeling)
We are affected by desire for more satisfying ways of being, outrage about all that is regularly exploited and destroyed, fear of what stresses and overwhelms, and shame about participating in the machinations of it all. To consider the way emotion comes upon us, from a nature we call “ours,” all the while being a branch of Nature itself, calls into question whether these emotions even belong to us or to the sufferings of the world, and we are being directed to feel and respond on its behalf. In other words, our animation may be the world’s way of speaking to us, and thus be an indispensable dimension of the co-creative process. Recognition of the autonomous intelligence of these deep emotional responses may be an invitation to attune ourselves to the presence of the earth’s own intelligence — or intelligences.
intellectness as cancerous distraction.. keeping us from the dance
