I have not read this, but this is one of the first potential ‘marxist’ treatments of decentralized economic coordination: (from his previous tweet – but not threaded)
oops, here is the title of the book mentioned in the previous tweet: The Classless Society in Motion. A New Theory of Communist Economy. By Donal Costello and Tom O’Brien. [https://theclasslesssocietyinmotion.com/part-1-value-amp-the-history-of-socialist-economic-planning/]:
Donal Costello is an Irish Marxist, studying a masters degree in engineering cybernetics in Kazan National Research Technical University, Russia
Tom O’Brien is also an Irish Marxist, and is the host of the ‘From Alpha To Omega’ political economy podcast.
They stumbled upon each other on the internet, through a mutual interest in the ‘Fundamental Principles of Communist Production and Distribution’. This chance meeting led to an intense and immensely fruitful dialogue over the implications of the Fundamental Principles, the logical outcome of which is this project.
from his next tweet (not threaded):
Why I am posting this ? Because I will write this semester, an overview of the potential for mutual coordination economics, which also prompts me to look back at both market and planning-based coordination systems. With research assistant Mayssam Daboul from Lebanon.

Chapter 24: The Development of a Socialist Society (~30 pages)
We discuss how a socialist society can develop from a lower to a higher stage and the inherent dynamics of expansion implied by the economic foundations of a labour time accounting approach. We also discuss the *importance productivity plays in maintaining the stability and viability of the system. A game theoretical approach is brought to the likely geo-politics of a successful socialist society/revolution, and any implications this may have for the **defence of the society from outside attack..t We discuss the ***necessary economic guidelines within which new layers of incentive and regulation can continually develop as needed to maintain the essential classless basis of the society..t
