daniel schmachtenberger on generator functions
via michel bauwens tweets [https://x.com/mbauwens/status/1803267255373013238]:
* “All (human induced) existential and catastrophic risks are symptoms of two underlying generator functions:” Daniel Schmachtenberger writes: 1) Rivalrous (win-lose) games multiplied by exponential technology (that) self terminate. 2) Complicated systems subsuming their complex substrate, becoming increasingly fragile till collapse becomes immanent. Our built world is complicated – not self organizing or self repairing; fragile. (https://civilizationemerging.com/solving-generator-function/…)
deeper.. those ‘generator functions’ symptoms of two underlying missing pieces
and [https://x.com/mbauwens/status/1803267643446796445]:
And here is the kicker, and proposed methodology for a mature civilization: “Categorical solutions to these generator functions need held as design constraints of a viable civilization. Such a civilization is possible. Any civilization that doesn’t address these generator functions will inexorably self-terminate. Social change at this level is unprecedented. And necessary. And must be held as the central work of this time.” https://civilizationemerging.com/solving-generator-function/
perhaps the kicker for a ‘mature civ’.. but the kicker for 8b alive people is to quit ‘addressing’ symptoms (ie: generator functions from above) and hold as infra (ie: design constraints) maté basic needs
change at this even deeper level is possible/unprecedented (ie: a legit global detox leap.. for (blank)’s sake) and we’re missing it
