imagine living with all of your senses on high alert.. vivid inner world.. all emotions magnified.. care beyond reason.. empathize w/o limits..
imagine being in permanent osmosis w everything around you
message is clear.. to be highly sensitive is to be highly flawed
insomnia is my best friend.. can’t turn it off
have a strong intuition that guides me like an infallible gps
book – by dr elaine arron..hsp: people who have a genetic trait of sensory processing sensitivity.. 15-20% of population – uses does: d(depth of processing); o(overstimulation); e(empathy – when one cries.. the other tastes salt); s(awareness of subtleties)
30% of hsps are actually extroverts
oy.. all these lables
50% of hsps are men
in our society men are not supposed to be sensitive..
hsp are like everyone else.. just experience world in a more vivid way
so.. like higashida autism law.. help others to wake up..
being hsp is not an illness and it is not a choice
? i don’t know.. i think we can choose to wake up.. live in osmosis..
not suggesting all hsps are geniuses that shape world.. but most have genuine urge to create connection/meaning.. because they feel every pain they see.. want to elevate forgotten and save unfortunate..
when hsps try to hide sensitivity to fit in .. we all lose.. lack beating heart of sensitive creation.. imagination.. empathy
we need to accept/appreciate sensitivity
we are all sensitive.. hsps just at far end of spectrum.. that’s why talking about sensitivity affects all of us.. erase notion that sensitivity is a weakness..
society where everybody is safe to express softer side..
need to happen in schools and workplace
or disengage from both
because sensitive .. lose out in competitive world.. begs an environ that where all personality types can flourish..
we can all make an impact simply from refraining from judging.. (sensitivity)
stop trying to toughen up
the more we all allow ourselves to connect to our innate sensitive gifts.. the more we can heal ourselves.. and he planet we live on..
