The Digital Revolution Meets the Common Good
– – –
3 points of interest/concern in regard to essence of a problem deep enough: trust, access, good:
1\ on trust
interesting that Ethan asks Emily.. sounds like what you’re talking about is trust.. and her response is .. (i think she said – better to not use the word trust) ..but it’s about literacy, transparency & (algorithmic) accountability – @ #
maybe that’s our problem… no?
2\ on access
another take – of interest/essence:
what if work on access is enough.
what if literacy and civic engagement is natural with access.
i’ve seen it in school. in spaces of permission – what’s needed happens.
3\ on good ness
again – great work… love them love them.. but we only need them because of lack of trust..
what if we Gershenfeld away the need to be secure.. the need to find out evil
Chris – the tools are labors of love – that want everyone to have the best they can..
again – to whistle blow…
what if we create situations where there’s no need (or very very little need) to whistleblow
true we have bad.. but can we ever capture it all up..? might we rather.. focus energy on everyone being able to do good..?
