I’m often asked what I think about Accelerationism, and my answer is : ‘not much‘. We are of course, accelerating, and accelerating to a disaster; and willfully accelerating this has no particular advantages in my mind. The only Accelerationism that matters is the acceleration of the seed forms towards Resilience, because, in chaotic transitions, islands of coherence can have an outsize effect.
what we need most is to accelerate the space/people/tech toward a nother way for 8b people to live.. to accelerate/hasten a sabbatical ish transition
and right.. all else.. are cancerous distractions
This is an older piece about the topic, and in the comments, a series on ‘True Accelerationism’, focused on the seed forms:

True Accelerationism, a series from 2016. What we need to accelerate:

True Accelerationism (2): How Soil-Based Carbon Capture Can Reverse Climate Change.. A series on true accelerationist technologies that will be instrumental against biospheric destruction. Excerpted from Larry Kopald:
To understand how, it’s important to remember a few simple facts: There is no waste in nature (she reuses everything); We don’t create carbon (we just move it from place to place); and, nature is literally dying to take back the excess carbon we put into the atmosphere and reuse it to grow us more stuff.
So why isn’t nature doing this? Turns out that our mistreatment of soil is preventing nature from doing what she does naturally and cycling carbon back from the atmosphere. We are literally disrupting the process of photosynthesis
we keep disturbing the ecosystem because we can’t seem to let go enough to see/try the unconditional part of left-to-own-devices ness
True Accelerationism (3): Abundance is the basis of civilization, on the scale economics of renewable energy.. A series on true accelerationist technologies that will be instrumental against biospheric destruction.. excerpt are from a very interesting lecture by Roberto Verzola:
In this speech, I explore the possibility that micropower, or small-scale generation, also called distributed generation, can be as deep a game-changer as microprocessors. By deep, I mean changing the rules of the game not only within the industry, but in society as well.
My conclusion: To become a deep game-changer, the energy industry must find a way to scale down, not up, the power units in energy systems, enough to activate the economics of increasing returns to scale and trigger virtuous cycles of greater demand and lower prices.”
what the world needs most is the energy of 8b alive people
we need to accelerate access to that energy
need 1st/most: means to undo our hierarchical listening to self/others/nature as global detox/re\set.. so we can org around legit needs
True Accelerationism (4): The LM3D, the first system of sustainable distributed manufacturing may be ready by 2017..A series on true accelerationist technologies that will be instrumental against biospheric destruction.. Excerpted from Derek Markham
One distinguishing feature of the Local Motors’ 3D-printed car series is the ability for replacement or custom parts to be printed directly at the company’s microfactories, which can have a smaller environmental footprint than that of manufacturing in a traditional format, which requires an infrastructure set up with additional tooling and molding machinery.

True Accelerationism (5): John D. Liu on Large-Scale Ecosystem Restoration Projects..The following excerpt are from a very interesting lecture by Roberto Verzola:
A series on true accelerationist technologies that will be instrumental against biospheric destruction:
“”It’s possible to rehabilitate large-scale damaged ecosystems.” Environmental film maker John D. Liu documents large-scale ecosystem restoration projects in China, Africa, South America and the Middle East, highlighting the enormous benefits for people and planet of undertaking these efforts globally.”

humanity needs a leap.. to get back/to simultaneous spontaneity .. simultaneous fittingness.. everyone in sync..
‘in undisturbed ecosystem ..the avg individual.. left to its own devices.. behaves in ways that serve/stabilize the whole’ –dana meadows
we keep disturbing the ecosystem because we can’t seem to let go enough to see/try the unconditional part of left-to-own-devices ness
