intro’d to (and resonating with) Hugh here:

ted2016 – what does it mean to be a global citizen of the world

part of a growing movment… global citizens… someone who self identifies first/foremost not as a member of a state/nation/tribe… but as a member of the human race…prepared to act on that belief.. to tackle world’s greatest challenges

nationality: human

if we had more global citizens active in our world… problems would be solved..

indeed…

let’s do this firstfree art-ists.

for (blank)’s sake

a nother way

as a why kid i thought i could change the world.. and it was impossible to convince me otherwise

why should anyone have to live like this when i have so much….

the poverty i’d seen in philippines were made by powers that be..

it wouln’t work to send a few dollars or clean up dumb… because core of problem lay elsewhere… community development should be driven by community itself… se need to confront on global/systemic way…

by rallying citizens together we motivated govt to sway… but it didn’t last…. one off spikes are not enough.. we needed a sustainable movement…. it needed to happen everywhere…

when you make global citizenship your mission.. you find yourself some incredible allies… poverty isn’t only issue that is fundamentally global… all inter related issues…

we used universal language.. music… central park.. had to earn a ticket… activism is the currency…

we don’t need to create global citizen from nothing… we’re already everywhere.. we just need to organize…

indeed… hosting life bits on blockchain.. as the day.. set everyone free.. to io dance et al…

when thousands of global citizens find each other… hard to ignore their power…

so imagine… 7 bill  people connecting .. as the day… let’s let tech tdo that… and free us up…

despite all this momentum.. we face huge problems…

the whole world is our backyard.. and we ignore it at our peril…

the problems and the tools to solve them are right before us…

those of us who look beyond our borders are on the right side of history…

have we achieved our mission.. no… we have such a long way to go..

opportunity i see: concept of global citizenship has coincided with this particular moment…. we can now accelerate large scale positive change…

these dreams are w/in reach…
