15 min – learned a lot of things.. live in place for 2 yrs.. it’s an entirely diff universe.. could talk for days about it.. but specifically if talking about my later stuff on direct democracy it’s very interesting.. i’ve considered myself an anarchist for.. since i was a teenager.. reason why.. way i always put it.. ‘most people don’t think anarchism is a bad idea.. they think it’s insane.. would be nice if no cops and people just get along.. dream on.. people would just kill each other..’ well i come from a family where that was not assumed..t father from bornea lived thru rev.. anarchist ways of org-ing everything were fine.. i mean there were problems but no more than anywhere else.. so i never thought anarchism was insane.. so there was not reason not to be an anarchist.. so ok.. i was an anarchist.. but i never actually lived in a place w/o state authority..

16 min – so here i am living in rural madagascar and i realize after a while.. that there actually is no state authority where i was.. there were cops who were basically along the highway.. keeping roads going good.. but as soon as you get off the paved road.. which is almost everywhere in rural m.. police would not come.. maybe if somebody was murdered in the full view of other people.. and somebody went down to the town to call the police.. maybe they’d show up.. but otherwise they didn’t care..
why i really wanted to give madagascar.. and madagascar love a try.. a people experiment et al..
17 min – so nobody’s paying taxed.. police wouldn’t come.. people are governing themselves as anarchists would.. but they were smart enough not to say that.. didn’t put up big flag ‘we are autonomists’.. so basically they would just make life difficult for them if they came in and tried to (control them).. so i got to observe first hand how people can actually org things w/o top/down control/demand
24 min – how to you stop strong from being over handed
very rare they had to intervene against bullies.. they would go after people if they raped people et al.. but thee was a principle.. could only lynch people if got permission from parents first..
26 min – tool kit.. ? long experience.. thing about madagascar.. people grew up doing it.. people who grew up there.. that’s just how you do it.. so they had a set of tools..
27 min – lots of people.. ie: on a construction site.. make decision via consensus.. just middle class people don’t know how to do it at all.. or can’t imagine how to .. it’s just a way you can’t leave anybody too pissed off.. any place where you can’t force majority to do what a minority does.. a system where everybody is completely hears.. going thru a process where everybody gets their perspective in.. if it takes that long.. better in a small group.. de-central dm as much as possible.. but for big ones.. everyone..

(anarchy) is everywhere.. communism is just from each to each.. we all do that all the time.. communism is the way we get things done.. do things w/o threatening other.. you’re an anarchist..
