Having the wildest week with the book. Checked the rankings on Amazon casually before going to bed Sunday night. It is a new author’s vice – taking the book’s temperature with the audience constantly. “The Unforgettable Photograph” had hiked its way all the way up to #5 in overall books, only two weeks after publication. I swear I heard the angels singing. It was at #1 in arts and photography books, where it has stayed all week. Having a piece in Parade Magazine added alot of fuel to the fire. Part of me was thrilled because you want to sell books. The bigger part was so happy the message of the book seemed to be connecting with it’s audience. This book is so close to my heart,. Inspiring people to take pictures that grow out of appreciating every part of their life is powerful. Thanks to everyone who is supporting the book, and many thanks to all who have shared such kinds notes. The link below is for Scott Mowbray’s post on Huffington Post today. Scott is the co-author and brains behind the conception and birth of the book.
While I think of us as lovers not fighters….there are so many friends fighting for so many things that need an anthem. With all due respect to everyone from Pete Seeger to Bruce Springsteen – the Lange boys are taking the stage.

This particular moment in history is so bloated with depravity and really bad ideas – if feels like we are suffocating the life out of our future.
Historians are not dumb.
Women are not wrong.
Scientists are not lying.
Our children have no clue that the politicians in Washington are pulling the rug out from under their futures.
We need to look up from our phones for our voices to be heard.
We need to share our fears.
We need to embrace goodness.
*I have no clue how we come together right now to upend this sinking ship – but I do know that we need to make our voices heard louder and more effectively than our tweets.
*let’s try this George..mech to listen to and facilitate all the voices.. everyday.. via 2 convos ..
