even while anxieties about new techs are expressed often in accounts of its (potential) pernicious effects .. this unease may actually be rooted not in what new tech actually does but rather in what it reveals of what was there and true all along.. that we would rather not know .. and these unrequested de mystifications are disturbing.. esp when they in some way demote us from our place of presumed privilege/centrality or intuitive natural stability.. – Benjamin Bratton
