while googling Brant and unoffendable…(wanting to read unoffendable)

found this.. for i am second (made in 2011):

we made up righteous anger

eph 4:26 – when you are angry do not sin.. that’s half the verse.. rest: be sure to not be angry by end of today..

3 min – our culture: offended by everything.. constant anger.. constant shock.. ‘i can’t believe they said this..’ … stop being shocked.. humans are messed up..

5 min – healthy outlook.. this is how humans are… we’re broken.. maybe at some point go ahead and believe it.. and they go about forgiving people..

6 min – you will get angry.. get rid of it

7 min – message version way off.. not anything close to what scripture says: go ahead and be angry.. you do well to be angry.. but don’t use anger as fuel for revenge..  that’s not what it says in any of the language.. not in greek.. not in english translation of greek.. but this is what we do to justify our anger..

5 verses later eph 4:31: do not be bitter or angry or mad..  another version: get rid of all anger.. but that’s not what any of us memorize.. we are supposed to radically walk in forgiveness of people..

8 min – jesus/god gets angry.. right.. he’s sinless.. 1\ i can’t be trust with anger.. who gets to decide if it’s righteous.. you’re biased toward you always.. you’re always the victim..

9 min – james 1:20:  the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of god  … nobody memorizes this.. how can your anger be righteous if it does not

10 min – it’s a crazy idea.. but you should decide to forgive people.. all the time

i know you ness

level moral playing field.. just as bad/good

i know you ness

if i have ever hated someone.. just as bad as a murderer.. et al

11 min – to say you’re entitled to anger.. means you’re not going to forgive them.. can’t stay angry and forgive

12 min – 1 co 4: not only can you not judge others.. can’t even judge own.. i’ll have to leave it to god..

getting to see with heart ness

13 min – so how about walk in humility…

not saying.. not do anything.. just let bad happen.. mlk.. his house was firebombed.. said he can’t afford to get angry…

14 min – the thing is.. calling to action.. but not anger.. actually do something

15 min – people less likely to take action if clicked on sm..

16 min – anger inhibits judgment.. make things happen but not out of anger.. out of love..

18 min – on stress (study from atheist prof at stanford on stress).. for zebra.. it all lasts 30 sec..  but humans.. will feel threatened all the time.. by things that haven’t even happened.. we borrow trouble from the future.. easily threatened.. think we have to protect everything.. it destroys us.. that cortizol rise is only supposed to go on for a short time..

robert sapolsky – atheist comes to conclusion: don’t borrow trouble from tomorrow..

unwanted stress

21 min – nobody can threaten me anymore because they can’t take away where my security comes from..

if you live this way.. you won’t get angry as quickly.. nothing left to threaten..

22 min – a lot of us get angry too because we expect deep down that god is angry with god.. i do have a dirty mind..selfishness.. so i can’t believe he loves me..

26 min – i am o and 13 as a human being.. and the limo is coming.. if we really believe that.. you’re going to be a lot more apt to forgive other people.. go thru life w a lot less stress..

27 min – i’ve just decided.. i’m not going to be offended by things.. i’m not entitled to this.. i have to let it go..

warning.. people will want to be around you.. you don’t have an agenda for them..

no agenda

when don’t feel like you have to assess people’s temp all the time.. a good way to live

i’m an introvert..

28 min – i work in radio.. people upset/disappointed with me for everything..

32 min – i could spend rest of my life being upset about people.. so.. i’ve decided.. i’m not going to be offended… people are hurting..

In 2014, Hansen wrote a book titled “Unoffendable: How Just One Change Can Make All of Life Better”, due to release in April 2015. The subject matter of the book is on anger, and according to Hansen “giving up the “right” to be offended can be one of the most freeing, healthy, simplifying, relaxing, refreshing, stress-relieving, encouraging things we can do.”

Hansen has Asperger syndrome and nystagmus, conditions that have presented him with challenges in social situations. Hansen has stated that he finds these conditions exhausting, but also finds positive aspects to his circumstances. In an interview, he stated, “Let’s face it: I’m in radio because I can’t be seen. Asperger’s makes for real honesty – and that can make arresting radio.

Hansen is an outspoken Christian, and has been featured on the I Am Second website. He has blogged on multiple sites, and presently maintains a faith-related blog. Hansen and his wife traveled to Kenya with Compassion International to meet the child they had been sponsoring. Hansen challenged 200 listeners to also become sponsors; over 300 did so. Hansen also traveled to Indonesia to assist with Tsunami relief efforts.
