nika: explaining braintrust https://davidgraeber.org/projects/brain-trust/.. david was trying to create a positive program to make positive change via people not govt.. so he gathered lots of diff kinds of people.. all come together and propose what to do for every human in ed, construction, banking, et al.. to survive.. bunch of smart people come up w solution.. braintrust in dgi little diff.. covers 2 major cases.. 1\ climate change already happened can’t prevent it 2\ govt not going to help us.. so what to do after know those 2 things.. what can we do right now and here.. not in future.. we as urban poor.. not as billionaires that can go to new zealand.. or bunch of hippies w commune who have means to learn agri et al.. we started in sept.. and starting w lectures.. each lecture practical.. people who can give real description of what can be implemented now.. start w adrian bowyer.. prof at bath uni.. 3d printers.. et al.. so brainstrust will follow same route like davids.. go thru each part of human society.. production, ed, health, med.. and try to create enough projects around that.. ie: lot of talk in uk.. 100s of local communities sharing diff way of living.. communicating their mutual aid.. that’s what happened w zapistitas and rojava et al.. question is.. when collapse will come.. some part of earth will be more prep’d than another.. right wing trying to convince: pension plan, weapons.. but this is a bad plan.. either collective way of confronting or we die

year ish later.. that first dgi braintrust – m of care – sept 28 23 – [https://museum.care/events/adrian-bowyer-s-lecture/]:

On 28 Sep 2023, Brian Trust is hosting a lecture by the engineer and mathematician, inventor of the open source 3D printer that became the basis for most of the 3D printers in the world today – Adrian Bowyer.
“We will not take the means of production away from the bourgeoisie to give them to the proletariat, but we will create means of production accessible to anyone.
Bowyer successfully created a working tool for the existence of “everyday communism” – the concept developed by David Graeber.

Adrian Bowyer /ˈboʊjər/ MBE is an English engineer and mathematician, formerly an academic at the University of Bath.

Born in 1952 in London, Bowyer is the older child of the late Rosemary and John Bowyer; the latter was a writer, painter and one of the founders of Zisman, Bowyer and Partners, consulting engineers. Bowyer was educated at Woodroffe School, Lyme Regis and Imperial College London

In 1977 he joined the Mathematics Department at the University of Bath. Shortly after that he received a doctorate from Imperial College London for research in friction-induced vibration. Whilst working in the Mathematics Department he invented (at the same time as David Watson) the algorithm for computing Voronoi diagrams that bears their names (the Bowyer–Watson algorithm)

He then spent twenty-two years as a lecturer then senior lecturer in the Mechanical Engineering Department at the University of Bath. He retired from academic life in 2012, though he is still a director of the company RepRap Ltd. He invented the RepRap Project – an open-source 3D printer that can produce plastic parts, including all such parts for a copy of itself. The Guardian said of this, “[RepRap] has been called the invention that will bring down global capitalism, start a second industrial revolution and save the environment.. t

totally need.. but only if within deeper context.. need means (nonjudgmental expo labeling) to undo hierarchical listening as global detox so we can grok and org around legit needs

In 2017 Bowyer received the 3D Printing Industry Outstanding Contribution to 3D Printing Award and was inducted into the TCT Hall of Fame. He was appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2019 New Year Honours for services to 3D Printing.

His wife is a retired school teacher; they have one adult daughter.
