Friends, what do you think about The Psychology of Totalitarianism and the theory of mass formation?
If societies can be organized through rituals of fear, obedience, and emotional synchronization, can we consciously invent counter-rituals instead?
Assemblies, occupations, carnivals, mutual aid, collective making — haven’t social movements always tried to do exactly this? Yet today, it often feels as if only right-wing think tanks, political strategists, and marketing agencies take the invention of social rituals seriously.

Why shouldn’t we?

‘social ritual’ we need most/1st:

the thing we’ve not yet tried/seen: the unconditional part of left to own devices ness

[‘in an undisturbed ecosystem ..the individual left to its own devices.. serves the whole’ –dana meadows]

‘in an undisturbed ecosystem..the individual left to own devices serves the whole’ meadows

ie: art (by day/light) and sleep (by night/dark) as global re\set.. to fittingness (undisturbed ecosystem)
