you are what you are.. and  you are what other people think you are.. you can’t avoid that..

in quotes.. what do you mean by that

also my nervous ness gauge

tattoo –

4 min – came from sober background… what kind of people were they.. i hate calling people anything.. they’re my parents… it’s very dangerous to stick labels..

labels ness..

convent.. i don’t like schools.. teacher.. didn’t enjoy that.. i didn’t find the school system at all conducive to ed.. i find all schools repressive.. i don’t think the convent made it any more repressive..

much greater question (than if can sit on grass et al).. of lack of liberty .. is what happens to people’s minds in schools…

what happened to your mind.. i don’t know .. i’m still finding out i suppose.. i think you go on living with what happened to you in your early life for the rest of your life..

voluntary compliance ness… – beliefs/dispositions from early pressures

i’ve wanted to be practically everything… i admire the people who are more than one thing enormously

how might fulfill self in future.. i’m not a planner.. i don’t like planning of any sort… i believe in a true following of instincts.. and that’s difficult to describe.. because it’s not just doing what you want to do.. that’s a very sort of impoverished idea of following instinct.. rather.. always keeping open to possibilities.. and when they come you go with them..

p 2

i’ve always been attracted to circus/transient life..

on not liking finely sewn suits

3 min – on feeling uncomfortable (taking clothes off).. i thought that was my problem.. and one of the things that you were taught at school.. that you spend the rest of your life fighting to get out of..

4 min – the thing about being naked in that sense.. is that you’re the only one.. (so everyone should do it)..

________

1979

3 min – fantasy – about world being a happy place.. and that’s rather impossible

perhaps not impossible.. just have to let our imaginations free (back to the liberty of the mind)…  a nother way

4 min – circus.. is it an escape..? no.. i think it’s the rogues and vagabonds.. i think actors have this sort of attraction to people who move around a lot.. are not rooted.. i’d like to be a vagabond.. i find it easy to leave. .. i love going..

6 min – never cut out to be a teacher.. i hated school.. worse as a teacher.. couldn’t imagine the horror that went on in a staff room..  i thought teachers were better than pupils.. i discovered not a bit of it.. they were as pathetic/petty.. as we were..

7 min – i always hated school.. i don’t see why someone should have to stop talking if they want to talk

9 min – at 14.. perhaps knowing where babies came out.. but not how they got there

11 min – marriage.. i’m not attracted to it.. it’s a bit like junkit.. just not naturally attracted to the idea.. i have no theories about it whatsoever.. there’s nothing so moving as seeing a good marriage..

one of first times i started to notice Helen.. (not that i hadn’t cared about her before.. just didn’t real know of her)
