absolutely – ai is means to make money.. ie: duolingo.. clarify (market place safety)… definitely something you can invest in in the here and now….
we don’t need a single machine that is better than humans at all things.. we just need machines that are better as humans at some things.. that’s going to make the impact starting today..

10 min – world after capital – my thesis – humanity has gone thru big shifts, foraging, agrarian, industrial.. and going to a knowledge age… each time shifts came about because of huge break thrus of tech.. allowing us to do things we couldn’t before..
now have digital machines.. diff than anything before.. ie: zero marginal cost; anything that can be computed can be computed by a machine.. zero marginal cost and universality.. a world no longer dominated by need to accumulate financial capital and allocate it to physical capital.. biggest will be how we allocate our attention..
13 min – core of book: goal 1\ capital to attention.. meet basic needs 2\ propose policies for transition.. to knowledge society… getting right is critical… to accomplish transition.. expanding individual freedoms.. thru instituting bi, internet access, rolling back ip rights, rethinking privacy.. info freedom.. and practicing/encouraging self regulation.. psych freedom..
16 min – philosophy is about fundamentally understanding why… tech makes many new things possible.. philosophy tells us what’s good/bad.. philosophy is about informing the choices…
20 min – i would rather remove constraints for individuals.. so individuals have more opp to make choices for themselves and for themselves figure out how they want to live..
instead of us predicting.. increasing the freedom for the system to adjust..
i’m worried that we’re bottling a lot of things up.. instead of letting water flow.. that’s how you wind up with evolutions and wars..
knowledge as foundational human project.. by knowledge i mean – something we have externalized.. and can share..
23 min – if something bad happens.. it will only be because we don’t have enough knowledge..

28 min – copyright and patent.. knowledge as commons.. if we restrict.. there is a cost to society.. in digital age… the cost has been going up… ie: to enforce copyright..at same time benefits for sharing have gone up… so you want to rethink how copyright works.. the only right you should have is right of attribution.. ie: pay a registration fee..

33 min – on bi – ubi – govt paying every citizen enough money every week/month to take care of basic needs… reason necessary.. it would make us econ free.. to be able to choose where they live and how they allocate their time…
if i can hire someone.. abundance cheap labor .. when labor gets expensive you need machines…
not good for us to force people.. better to let them make free choice… to be proper participants in labor market and in allocation of own attention..
a lot of human attention being tied up in things shouldn’t be tied up

It would be terrible if regions declaring Interdependence resulted in civil wars. Here I am stumped and maybe downright fearful. Agreeing to collaborate on the big human issues is meaningless if it is outside of regions’ power to act. But asserting that power relative to the surrounding nations is a provocative step.
So while I don’t know how to get there, I still believe that flushing out a version of Interdependence is crucially important for humanity. I should also point out that mine is not vision of some all powerful world government. Rather a federation of regions with as little as possible handled at the Federal level.
