intro’d to Noah here:
love what Jonathan says at 10 min – about daughter..
13 min – Noah – art intrigued me because i knew i would never be the best.. i knew there would never be an end.. always more to learn/do/be
15 min – interesting – then he says – i don’t like failing.. i’m very competitive.. i have to be the best.. fear of failing
17 min – it’s all the stuff you do/learn on your own – because you really care about it – it has to come out of you – not out of others telling you what to do – people love to be told what to do..
23 min – i want to create art like i want to create art
26 min – anytime i feel too comfortable – i feel i need to change things…
29 – i was doing my own work, and i was networking.. (during college)
32 – it’s ok not to be a professional artist – there’s a lot of drawbacks.. it’s pretty easy to stop liking your art when you have to do it for money
There has never been a better time to be an artist. I’m inspired by the sheer quantity and quality of internet resources available to artists.
But I encourage all aspiring artists to think long and hard about their options. Student loans are unforgivable through bankruptcy and can wreck your financial future. Establishing a career while under the unceasing brutality of student loans makes an already difficult task nearly impossible.
Find another path. Art is a wonderful, beautiful, fulfilling pursuit. Don’t ruin it with a mountain of debt.
