the future project
THE FUTURE PROJECT IS OUT TO REVOLUTIONIZE EDUCATION
We’re on a mission to transform America’s high schools into Future Schools. Places that value taking risks and taking action. That show students they have what it takes to innovate and to lead. That unleash passion. And power. It’s a whole new vision for education, and a revolution in which everyone wins.
maybe we meet up with:
Gabrielle is the Director of Curiosity at The Future Project, an education start-up that turns High Schoolers’ passions into projects. This means she leads the human factors research and development process as it forms our product and service design. She has a masters from the Harvard Ed School where she studied the psychology of creativity and universal design for learning, and prototyped a variety of ed tech innovations in the Harvard Innovation lab, winning grants and entering pitch competitions across campus. She worked with a team at the Harvard ArtScience labs and MIT researching and consulting with a new course based on design-thinking and innovation and with the Joan Ganz Cooney Center at Sesame Workshop launching a project on Latino Families, new media, and digital learning. Prior to going to graduate school, she worked on a developmental psychology research team at the Yale Child Study Center and lived in an urban charter school. Additionally to working at The Future Project currently, she consults with a local High School to help teachers build and integrate a makerspace and design-thinking lab in their school. From these varied perspectives on development, education, and innovation, she harnesses a deep enthusiasm for unpacking and building what learning can and should look like in years to come. This coupled with the child poet and creative non-fiction writer within her brings her to want to describe all the small, glorious, and often under-looked discoveries in the world.

future labs (zac hill)
Future Laboratories was born out of The Future Project, one of the fastest-growing nonprofits in America.
Talking and thinking about that idea every day — and being inspired by thousands of young people building amazing projects from coast to coast — drove us to dream of a laboratory that serves way more than schools. So we built it.
