listing a few here.. page prompted by this latest..

we create nclb so that everyone can get to an assumed acceptable state – esp those that don’t seem to currently – making the grade.

we create a means to measure – making the grade – ie: csap, tcap, sat, act, pisa, …

we create screening/diagnoses for things such as adhd, so that we can augment a kid (that doesn’t seem to want to focus on what we want them to focus on – on thursday at 11 et al) getting to that state.

so then, these kids we have augmented/drugged to sit still/focus, enough to get the grade/score/basics we think they need, are not counted in the measurement we made to make sure they could be counted/measured.
