North Star is a center for self-directed learning and community-based education functioning like a YMCA or other member-based organization.  Member teens choose from among a wide array of educational options depending on their needs and interests.  Founded in 1996 by two middle school teachers, we are now in our 18th year of serving teenagers who prefer to pursue their educations outside of traditional schooling.
