Jonah Canner is an Educator, Activist, and Social Entrepreneur. Based in New York City, he has spent the last fifteen years working on local, national, and international education initiatives. Jonah is a recipient of the Ariane de Rothschild Fellowship for Jewish and Muslim Social Entrepreneurs. He has been on the founding team of a public high school – the Community School for Social Justice in the Bronx; a local youth serving non-profit organization – Fertile Grounds Project; a national movement building organization – the Institute for Democratic Education in America (IDEA); and an international change effort – the Education City Initiative in Caguas, Puerto Rico. Jonah is currently writing a book on Experiential Education. Throughout his career, Jonah has approached all of his work with the compassion of a camp counselor, the pragmatism of a public school teacher, and the ingenuity of an entrepreneur.
