graham culbertson – via unc chapel hill site [https://englishcomplit.unc.edu/faculty-directory/graham-culbertson/]:

Graham Culbertson began his teaching career as a teaching fellow at UNC in 2006, and has been teaching courses in composition, literature, theory, and film studies ever since. His current research and teaching interests focus on anarchism in the broadest sense possible: mutual aid, cooperation, and nondomination. His podcast, Everyday Anarchism, brings authors, activists, and academics from all over the world together to discuss this broad sense of anarchism, covering everything from the anarchic roots of Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings to contract grading in the composition classroom to sourdough bread. Graham is currently working on a book, Batman vs. Anarchism, about the way that Batman stories deploy anarchism as a potential route for Bruce Wayne that ultimately must never be taken.

notes/quotes from ch 1’s 20 min audio:

(then reads from p360 of version i read from here) ‘from this perspective.. the crucial factor: money’s capacity to turn morality into a matter of impersonal arithmetic – and by doing so, to justify things that would otherwise seem outrageous or obscene..t the factor of violence, which i have been emphasizing up till now may appear secondary

p 383:

when one looks a little closer, one discovers that these two elements—the violence and the quantification—are intimately linked.t in fact almost impossible to find one w/o the other
