hey guys. we hope this finds you well.
we are entering another experimental phase with the lab: perhaps a coming-out phase. leading up to perhaps, a global launch at idec2013, august 4-10.
we are writing to you, because in one way or another – you have inspired/influenced/created/etc the work we have been doing the last four years.
in this coming out phase, we’re wanting to share a more concrete visual of all the people that have been a part. even the attempt we are about to make won’t do attribution/aggregation justice, but we seek to at least share a glimpse of our ongoingly morphing community.
as explained on our site – people page ..
We are experimenting with a grid of people, because there are so many involved. Once you get to the people site (will take you there below) … you should see a full screen of photos. you need to scroll down, scroll bar on right, so that all the 400+ photos load. Once all photos are loaded.. along the top, find drop down..
click on Label… and you should see the tiles move into groups, the people listed above gathered first – as a contact. Then we’ve grouped others into local & global lab people [meaning they are experimenting with us]; local & global advisors [meaning they are feeding us great insight]; and virtual advisors/authors [people we may have met or may not have, but their work has influenced us greatly], and then virtual/local organizations we are connected to.

so the ask…
- decide if you want to show up on this grid – as a part of the lab. we would love to include you, [as well as others anyone thinks of – this is ever growing/morphing]. please note: you can be done here.. either by letting us know you don’t want to be included, or by being ok with being included – as well as ok with the photo we’ve already have attached for you.
- pick a label – if you don’t like the one we’ve picked, or we haven’t yet picked you one:
- acontact – people that can be emailed or tweeted for immediate response to questions
- advisor global – people giving us great insight [not necessarily experimenting with us] outside of colorado
- advisor local – people giving us great insight [not necessarily experimenting with us] in colorado
- lab global – people that are experimenting with us outside of colorado

- virtual author/adivosry – people we may or may not have met, but their work is influencing us greatly

3. some link so people can find/connect/relate to you, like: and about.me page, or your site link, or a link to a 1-2 minute youtube video of you talking about your passion/curiosities/you, or link to you on facebook, or twitter, or email….

this is an example of the visual we are prototyping initially – inspired by simon hoegsberg’s – the thought project as well as bloggers new tile format. [perhaps there is a better way to do this.. please give us a holler if you know of one. we are prototyping it for our lab launch, and then want to use it as well to initiate an online presence/conversation/crowdsourcing of gatherings that matter to people coming to idec. this actually models the essence of the curiosity app we are working on as well.]
