graeber mechs to hear law
why is it we’re not hearing.. we need to figure out how to create mechanisms to stop doing that.. and once we do.. i think the rest will take care of itself – David Graeber
from david is funny:
2:07 – i would say there’s nobody on earth.. who could not think of at least one idea of how to solve a common problem that plagues us that none of us could have solved.. now why is it we’re not hearing those things from them.. because 99.9% of them spend most of their lives being told to shut up all the time.. and we need to figure out how to create mechanisms to stop doing that.. and once we do.. i think the rest will take care of itself
more from david is funny:
1:02 – systems like decentralized consensus.. that could work w/o coercion.. w/o a police force.. i always say.. an anarchist org is any form of org that would not require guys w weapons to show up at a certain point and say.. everybody shut up and do what you’re told.. so any system where you don’t need those guys could be an anarchist system.. *so what we’re trying to create are decision making methods that could work w/o violent enforcement.. t
*imagine if we let go of decision making as the focus.. and instead focused on daily curiosity.. we’d need less/no decision-making/consensus/coercion to some assumed/enforced finite set of choices.. so no need for violence/violent-enforcement
imagine if we just focused on listening to the itch-in-8b-souls.. first thing.. everyday.. and used that data to augment our interconnectedness.. we might just get to a more antifragile, healthy, thriving world.. the ecosystem we keep longing for..
beyond solving problems..
